Expressive.

Worth learning properly.

The contrast. The rhythm. The quiet confidence of every stroke.

It is for those who want to understand the script, control the pen, and build a hand that feels as good to write as it looks on the page.

Whether you are brand new to Copperplate or ready to refine what you already know, this class meets you where you are and moves you forward with intention.

Prerequisite: Students should be reasonably comfortable using dip pens. Familiarity with pointed pen is not required.

Two Ways to Join

Start with a One-Day Intro

Curious? Cautious? Want to test the waters first?

This one-day introductory class gives you a clear, satisfying entry into Copperplate calligraphy.

You will be introduced to the flexible pointed pen and the foundational strokes that make Copperplate work.

You will learn how pressure and release create thick and thin lines, how the script is constructed, and how to practice without feeling lost or overwhelmed.

Think of this as your orientation.

You will leave knowing how Copperplate works, what to practice, and whether you want to continue deeper.

Commit to the Full 8-Class Series

For calligraphers who want real progress, not just a taste.

This complete online Copperplate series is designed to build skill steadily and confidently over time.

We begin at the beginning.

Basic strokes.

Pen control.

Minuscules. Capitals. Numbers.

Then we layer in spacing, rhythm, and letter connections so your writing starts to feel cohesive and intentional.

The focus throughout is on mastering the pen.

You will work on consistency of pressure, clarity of form, and the relationships between letters, developing a deep understanding of why Copperplate looks the way it does when it is done well.

The pace is deliberate.

Beginners get the time they need to absorb the fundamentals, while more experienced calligraphers finally have the space to slow down, correct habits, and refine their hand.

Why This Class Works

This is not a rushed overview or a one-off demonstration.

It is a guided learning experience that gives you time to practice, reflect, and improve between sessions.

You are not just copying letterforms.

You are learning how to see them, build them, and write them with confidence.

By the end of the series, Copperplate will no longer feel mysterious or intimidating.

It will feel familiar, logical, and deeply satisfying to write.
